2013 Alexander Valley Vineyards Dry Rose of Sangiovese - stunning!

922013 Alexander Valley Vineyards Dry Rosé of Sangiovese

Alexander Valley, Estate, 13.2%, 3000 cs., $15

Rosé certainly runs the gamut, from extremely light and ethereal to well, where this wine lives, as far as I can tell in the ultraviolet end of the spectrum. For someone who doesn’t care for too many domestic Sangiovese, this is a gorgeous wine. The farmers grow this vineyard exclusively for Rosé and the dedication shows. It is slightly gassy when first opened yet reveals a nose of cherry, strawberry and mineral-laced carbonic character. The palate is fresh, round candied cherry, raspberry with a rich core of concentrated juicy watermelon. Drink 2014 – 2016. www.avvwine.com
